This paper on errors and inconsistencies in street level bureaucratic encounters is based on my presentation at a workshop organized by my colleague Therese Garstenauer (who is also the editor of this issue) and a lecture I gave at the University of Leipzig. Since it seemed extremely difficult to find correct or adequate translations of the errors and inconsistencies I found in bureaucratic files into English, I decided to publish the full paper in German. (The paper, which is available in in open access now contains a short Englisch abstract, though.)
